First of all I will start by saying I wish we'd read the reviews before eating here. I say that because it was only when we came to pay the bill did we discover that they don't have a card machine ! This is hard to fathom really when it seems to be such a fancy, new restaurant. It's not as if it's out in the sticks and in this day and age it came as a bit of a shock. Luckily my husband had enough cash on him to pay.In relation to the food, we ordered the garlic bread as a starter, followed by the sirloin and fillet steak with sides of french fries and a hamburger and fries for our little boy. Considering we ordered the garlic bread as a starter we expected that to come first. Instead they bought our sons meal (no issue with this) and the sides of fries we had ordered. We sat there wondering where the steak was, this arrived about 5 minutes later along with the garlic bread ! It needs to be better coordinated in this regard, with starters coming at the start followed by the main course. Like I say I've got no issue with a childs meal being brought out at the same time as the starter as they're usually hungry. The steak was nicely seasoned, however mine was overcooked....I asked for it medium/well done and it was definitely well done. I don't know if this is how it's cooked in Portugal when you ask for it like this ?? Maybe next time I'd ask for it medium. The french fries weren't fries at all but were like proper homemade chips, they were really nice !We finished off by ordering the cheesecake for dessert. It was ok but not what I was expecting at all. It didn't taste like cheesecake as I know it, it was more like some kind of mousse. It was ok nonetheless.We certainly won't rush back here, especially due to the lack of card machine. It's a lovely restaurant with a nice outdoor seating area but the service needs some fine tuning. That said the waiters were very polite and nothing was too much trouble.
