A Bolota em Elvas

I have eaten here evenings and enjoyed my pork so much in the first night, I had to have it again and so did my man! yes this is a little more expensive than other local places, but they get what they pay for including beautiful...tableware and a beautiful atmosphere and decoration they can eat from a menu or a la carte and make on Sunday (noon) buffets. closed on Sunday evening and Monday evening.

this restaurant was a creation by júlia vinagre, a famous chef specializing in gastronomy by alentejo. their followers cultivated the tradition and make the way around and visit this small village near the Spanish border worthwile. there are two menus with fixed price per person) but we choose instead from the list the cozido de grão no tarro (a traditional one-pot with cherry, green beans, meat and suasagen, served in a cork receiver, for two people) and it was perfect. this is not the first time that I was in bolota and I was never leaving the food and service are excellent and this restaurant is unoubtelt one of the sanctuaries of alentejo

enjoy our cursed quality of ingredients was good and well cooked. the salat dressing somewhat smeared the taste of the laugh, but all the courses pleasant, especially the suppe and the fish. We went there because of the Michelin guide...a worthy recording....Rated, because our expectations might not be on this level, but beats most in the wider contrary and really good eating for very reasonable price. great to have the variety of courses back but would like to have the individual

very good restaurant. very good service. good ambiente. very good cooked with a great taste balance in creative decor.

Recommended by friends, we were very disappointed. Food okay but nothing outstanding. Two in party opted for dishes on the special menu but this was not reflected in the bill. When we queried, were told that we should have made it clear when ordering and...that portions would have been smaller if from the special menu. Waitress also said this wasn't the first time people had complained about this point however she didn't do anything about it! Very poor and disappointing.

You wouldn't expect one of the finest cooking for such a great price in this village. It is absolutely worth the small detour from the border to Lisbon. It is finely innovated Alentejo kitchen and still perfectly affordable. It is always a good ritual to...stop by there. And contrary to many places with good traditional kitchen in Portugal they treat you also well if you drop in from the middle of a bicycle trip, hence not traditionally dressed :

I went here with my wife on my way to see friends in Faro. It was well worth it. The venue was great, the food excellent and the house wine was brilliant!

It is really special to eat here is very well cooked. They know well the traditional cuisine of Alentejo, they know how to mixe traditional with new products. Innovation is not forgotten and also quality.
