after a day on the way back to the train station we found this wonderful restaurant on the way back. it is from the season, so was very quiet, but the owner/chef/water was super and very attentive. we had the most amazing lunch. we have shared a cheese and sesame bread to begin my wife had the laughs and garnel risotto, I had the pork with chestnuts pure. both meals were error-free and tasted amazing. the wine was also very good. if they like good eating, amazing service and jazz/blue music, they will love this place. we visit lisbon every january, and this is now on the list of duty.

It’s a hidden gem of Sintra — the old Portuguese lady who served us was warm and helpful. The interior of the restaurant is like a classic British tea house. They only serve a few tables at a time so every customer was well taken care of. I really like the Bacalhau — especially the caramelised onion on top of it really balancing out the seasaltiness of the cod and enhancing the freshness of the fish simultaneously. The chocolate egg pudding was creamy but not too sweet. They also have a pretty good wine selection!
