We went to this place recommanded by friends. We can't say that the place is not magical because the beach is just awesome. White sand and magical blue of ocean. Otherwise, the foods wasn't exceptional. Fresh sea foods and grilled fishes like any other place in Portugal. The big problems was the flies everywhere. Like 20-30 just on our table. And that the main reason why the lunch became nightmare. We ask for a trap or any other solution but the manager seems to be used with this situation and can't help us more than burning fresh coffee on the table.

We loved this relaxed beachbar/restaurant with a nice view over the sea.It was on a saterdayevening without reservation, but that wasn't possible at first. It was fully bookedIt's closed on sundays, no other opportunities for us. We went to the otherside, another beachbar where they didn't understand us and the menu wasn't that great. So we went back and give it another try, and surprised and happy as we were. The best table was ourswith a nice cocktail watching the sunset.Best food ever!, a nice grilled salmon and mussels And a very delicious lime pie as dessert.Very relaxed ambiance and nice waiters (all speak very good english)Highly recommended.

Victim of its success, this place is great if you fancy being insulted by a headless waitress who cannot wait 5 minutes to hold your table. Non sense. Comporta is 1 hour and a half far from Lisbon, you drive all that and your table is gone because you're 3 minutes late.

Just go and enjoy! Carefully select your arrival time and take some warm clothing. When the sun is gone it turns quickly fresh. After dinner you can lie around, there are chairs for it. Have drink, dance. Delicious!

1.so sad to have this dirty place in the most attractive place of the beach. 2.there are mosquitos everywhere we coulnd't eat even breath! 3.foods are not speacial NOT RECCOMENDED!

Such a great beach restaurant! The food is fabulous, the setting is stunning and the family who own it are great! They took such amazing care of us! My favourite place in Comporta with the perfect sunset not to be missed!

We travel a lot and I tend to take reviews with a grain of salt and I also look to other publications for reviews like Condé Nast and Travel and Leisure. I'm glad I booked this great place and had a special day to spite some of the reviews. First of all, in Europe at lunch time, you must call ahead and make a reservation. End of story. Second of all, depending on the day, wind, you might get flies as it is a beach and open air but today was perfect and not one fly disturbed our fantastic meal. We had the razor clams and rice, Sangria followed by a Gin and tonic and coffee! Could not be a more perfect view. We rented a beach bed for the day next door at the Mosquito Bar and my husband and two teenagers thanked me several times for such a perfectly planned day!

If you wish to try this restaurant/cafe do reserve a table as soon as you can, otherwise you won't get a place :-( by lunch time or late lunch time.This restaurant offers many Portuguese and local specialities. I could see that everything what people were eating was looking good.For a snack after the beach at around 4pm we have ordered small dishes to share like the stockfish-chickpea salad, hummus, the asparagus omelet, cheese etc and I must say everything was super fresh and tasty.For a constantly crowded establishment with tourists allover the place I found that the service team was very friendly and fast.It's not a cheap place at all... with its setting by the beach it looks like somewhere in Ibiza... when you have the view to the beach.Anyway I have enjoyed my experience at Comporta Cafe and recommend a visit to this place.
