love my daily coffee in this neighbourhood café. the owner is very friendly and the outdoor dining area is fantastic. her coffee is the best.

beautiful place to stop for a snack when, the trams run right in front of the open seating area, beautiful courteous owners, many local people sitting in the back of the caffe with eating. sip a vino outside watch the packed trams past, the helicopter...tour landing and departure, the river cruises past, a nice opportunity to spend one or two hours. excellent prices too.
We stayed at a house nearby for three nights during the Red Bull Air Race, and we had coffee at the Portilho each day. We had a chance to sample several different pastries, and they brought our meia de leites out to the table with...very nice service and reasonable prices. A good little neighborhood place.
We had breakfast here for a couple of days and it was delicious, especially the Pasteis de Nata! Very friendly owner and staff who made as feel like we are home. Too bad they close at Sunday because we therefore went to the neighbouring cafe...where the owner was very rude. So eat at Confeitaria de Portilho!
