Cozinha d'Aboim em Portel

We were very fortunate to enjoy a dinner here thanks to family friends recommending and taking us there. From the hidden location to the beautiful, understated modern/classic Alentejo decor to the impeccable hosting and service to course after course spent discovering traditional Alentejo dishes, cooked to perfection, to the beautiful pumpkin desserts - really, just the best dessert I've ever tasted - to the exceptional wine - memorable, enjoyable and faultless. We do not have many options in Portel, but thus is the best one. We had a good Dogfish with potatoes. A honesty salad. Local reasonable green wine. Good options for dessert. Honesty prices. The service is a little slow. Goncalo is very attentive.

After the usual search for a place to eat on tripadvisor, we decide to go the #1 in Portel. What a great choice! We were the first to arrive around 8 pm. Were warmly received and decided to have dinner in the inner patio. To start we have chosen the typical Açorda Alentejana (garlic and codfish), very tasty and comfort to the stomach. Then we had the "bochechas de porco preto". What an amazing confort food. The sauce was a reduction of wine and the potato pure on the side has bits and peaces of ginger, a pleasant tasteful surprise. To finish the meal, we ordered the typical Siricaia which was very good. But the cherry on the top of the cake was the "Pudim de Abobora" (pumpkin pudding); for me one of the best desserts I had in a restaurant. This restaurant is definitely a great choice, I just regret is far from where we live.

This Was by far the best restaurant I've been this year. The place is cozy, excellent modern rustic Decor, with a hidden location that in this case gives it an extra vibe to it. The staff Is very caring and is always sharp to deliver an excellent service. I had Lamb ribs and it was awesome beautiful amazing. Açorda de Espagos also made your mouth jump with pleasure. A special mix of desserts also made the night wonderful. FULLY recomended... This is a mandatory stop for all you Alentejo desert travellers! Thank you!!!!

Don't know where you are? Don't know where to eat? Get your stuff together, regroup, and check your stats. If it's Portel, than Cozinha d'Aboim is THE solution to your long-term aching for divine Alentejo cuisine. Caldo de cação, borrego, porco preto, and so on, and so forth... For wine, just ask for some advice because the service is up to that, or anything else!

A little bit hard to find, but we made it. The food was wonderful, although the service was somewhat slow. Very good "sopa de cação" and "feijoada de porco preto". It was really wonderful. Also very good deserts like "Sericaia". Strongly recommended.

this restaurant is charming with warm welcome, excellent local cuisine and cheap prices. the owner is very friendly and cuts into parts to make them happy.
