Hemingway - Gastropub em Pedroso

A pleasent place and experience (but not very good, considering the service) until two days ago, when I brought 8 new clients to the bar and the boss freaked out because we wouldn't fit in the tables available (4 tables for 6 people each)... because...he didn't want to turn them in order to join them. He didn't show any concern about solving the situation, just showed anger when we tried to fit 10 in a table for 6, hoping that other clients would leave meanwhile, and we could join two tables that were next to each other (a practice that is common in that place). When I, after my friends insisted to go to another bar, found a solution, by asking a couple to change tables, so we could join two tables that were near each other, the boss got even more upset. I thought about leaving but I had convinced my friends it was a great place to interact, considering we hadn't seen each other for 10-18 years. When we left the bar, I tried to talk to him and he said we (I, of course) disrespected him, by asking other clients if they would change tables. I didn't even have to ask because the girl saw everything and immediately nodded! But even so... I tried to show him our point of view and he asked me to stop talking and leave. Of course not everyone has to understand how to manage a business or how marketing works, but respect regarding the clients is fundamental for any business owner who wants to succeed... Basic management technique... Even if you wish things were different and you could do anything you like and still keep/get your/new clients. I regret I didn't listen to some of my friends when we first arrived, since they wanted to go to another bar, but I am glad we didn't have dinner there, since it was one of our options.

We sat there with a friend, we drank some stouts and ate a good cut of meat with potatoes and sauces on the side. Very good price for the food served, it was more than enough. Nice cozy place, friendly staff. I will come back for sure... eventually

This little gem is located in the main road, and you can miss it if you go to fast, so please, don't miss it, trust me I went there with my girlfriend, and that stuff was so good,that I had to go again the next...day.. Since there wasn't enough hunger for us to try everything in the same day! First, lovely place, warm decour and good music. Second, all the staff was impeccable, very nice and helpful. Thirdly, and for me the most important, the food... Dammmmmmn. We ate the Pica-Pau and Moelas and they were just on point. Tender meat and the perfect seasoning, made them a favorite dish. We also ate other things, like the Ovos Rotos and the French Fries with a Garlic mayo, and even those simple things were on point. Congrats. There was only one thing i didn't care for... The Petit Gateau. It was store bought, and it was overcooked a little, so no creamy chocolate on the inside.. Made me a little sad! (if I can give an advice, just mix some yolks with chocolate and flour and make your own Petit Gateau dough! Cheaper and way more delicious! Try it But the other desserts looked way more delicious, like the cheesecake on a jar! Damn bad choice of mine, not picking that! Lastly, cheap as hell! So go there and eat there and have an amazing time! Thank you very much for this little gem.

If you are around you must come in here and order the Kilimanjaro Steak. In 2016 they served it delicious for 14 euros.

Food was excellent one of the best meals i had in purtugal the Kilimanjaro steak was tasty as hell and jenouros in portion as all other dishes we had. The staff were freindly and provided very good service. not pricey! Bottom line go!!! You wont...regret...

Besides the fact, that the parking solution is not the best, Hemingway is a excelent place to go with friends to have a drink and eat diferent snacks. Busy place, good servisse, hugh variety of snacks, excelent relation quality price. It would be nice to...have more variety of portuguese wines (not everybody wants to drink beer.. Andr: que tal incluir estes vinhos na lista (vinhos que custam menos que 8 Tintos: Ermelinda Freitas Reserva, Papa Figos, Reguengos Monsaraz Reserva, Kopke, Herdade So Miguel Selecionada, Dilogo, Monte Cabaos, Maria Mansa, Quinta Vallado, Pontual... Branco: Ermelinda, Aveleda, Bucelas, Joo Pires, Lavradores Feitoria, Lua Cheia, Catarina, Luis Pato, Carm,, Cartuxa.....
