We come to Valenca quite frequently and always head for this place a couple of times during our holiday. Reasonably price and fresh food. Sometimes you have to wait for a table but we have always found it's worth it. Dish of the day is always an option of meat or fish with a soup starter dessert and drink included in the price.

Walked over from Spain, nothing much to Valencia but luckily we chanced upon this really cool bar, tapas restaurant, night club joined on to the station. The place is just far too good for such a backwater.salmon, portobello mushrooms were lovely and the prawns with pineapple, garlic coriander and tomatoes sounds bizarre but worked to a treat.great value.lovely posters, great service, some very interesting Portuguese wines and to top it all Portuguese craft beer, which I never knew existed. The stout would easily hold its own in England but the ipa would win beer festival medals,it was that good, cannot recommend the place highly enough

Very nice place with an cool ambiance. We had "prato do dia" that was grilled fish and it was very good and tasty. They always have 2 or 3 different dishes for "prato do dia" and this menu includes everything (soup, drink, food, bread and dessert). The place is usually almost always full but the wait time isn't that much. They also have a few seats outside and the wait staff is very professional and nice. Definitely a good place to go eat in Valença and I will most certainly visit again when I'm in Valença.

This restaurant, close to the train station of Valenca do Minho ,offers a good menu at reasonable prices. Nothing you fancy?,just ask,we had double egg/ chips and salad accompanied by a jug of vino Verde branco, excellent!! Deserts are of an excellent quality. Will return.

In Valença most people just stay in the old part. In the modern area, next to the train station it is where you can find this restaurant. The lunch menu costs seven euros and is very good and generously served. The price/quality ratio could not be higher. Enjoy!

Rather than waiting around the citadel for the restaurants to open, I walked down into town just before noon today, the last Saturday in June. The tourist oriented restaurants up above were fairly expensive, and none seems to get rave reviews. I decided to look for an ordinary lunch, and then to splurge on dinner tonight near where I'm staying in Viana do Castelo. The restaurant filled up quickly, largely with family groups. Everyone was eating one of the two dishes on the daily fixed price menu. I chose the grilled chicken over the fish (as did most of the other customers). The six euro lunch included a large bowl of soup; the main dish of chicken, rice, salad, and fried potato; a beverage; and a desert of rice pudding. The food went down easily enough, but it was nothing special that you'd write home about. Just good, solid Portuguese cooking. The best part of the meal was watching the family groups enjoy their lunches together.
