Raposo em Sagres

Spent the day at Mareta beach and went in here for a late lunch. Place was busy (always a good sign in my book) which was not a problem as our sunbeds were only a few metres away, so we could keep a lookout. We had a selection of dishes, which did take a while to materialise, but when the food did arrive, it was hot, freshly prepared and very tasty. Beer was ice cold, so thumbs up for that. Prices were not too bad either, given the limited choice on the beach.

Terrible value and slow service. When it finally arrived we were disappointed. Our 5 year old ate the entire thing and complained about still being hungry. My mozzarella and tomatoe salad was.literally that. Pointed out to the waitress that it was really expensive and she said 'yes it is' and walked off! Expect to pay over as right on the beach, but just felt ripped off.Disappointing.

Having eaten a wonderful lunch at a nearby restaurant a couple of days previous, we were back at the same beach looking for another lovely lunch, but not quite so lucky this time.The location is wonderful - right on such a fantastic beach - which is just as well, as you may have to wait a bit! We had been sitting waiting for a menu for almost 10 minutes before I went looking for someone and even when I found a waiter, he was in no hurry to be attentive. However, we did manage to get some menus and eventually were able to order. I really don't mind a more leisurely experience when on holiday, but this was just a tad too leisurely!The food was OK - our teenage son ordered a pizza, but despite what seemed a pretty good choice, everything was off except hawaiian and a couple of others from a menu of about 10-12. When it arrived it was quite small and it looked to us like a kid's size, but at adult prices. I had a chicken sandwich which was just that; a slice of fresh cooked chicken, a slice of tomato and a piece of lettuce on a ciabatta-type bun on a little side plate - no fries, no salad, nothing with it! It was nice, but I expected a wee bit more for my €6. My other half had a half-hearted salad. While the food was all fresh and tasty, the service was slow and for the prices I would have expected more for the money.

The food is terrible. Incredibly slow service. Obviously no interest in providing anything good. Beach outlook is nice - take a picnic.

It's directly on the beach....and we had some of the best octopus salad and grilled sardinhas. Friendly Service. Very reasonable prices for being ON the beach.

We came to raposo for drinks on the beach, after 20 Minutes, still no service. We decided to go elsewhere. The location is right on the beach which is nice but the service is extremely slow.

Wen t to this beach, well there is not much else in Sagres, found it to be a wonderful setting and fairly empty, well it is December.Decided to go for lunch, don't expect this to be high class of in fact quick but this is Portugal but expect it to be good, hot and tasty. Also the waiter had a brilliant sense of humour, one we had a giggle about later. His t-shirt said the end of the world, next stop America and it really is.Lovely day, don't mind if I do, another beer please.......

Touring around when in Algarve - decided to see west coast of area - stopped for lunch in Sagres - Raposa right on beach and with temperature 18deg needed a drink. Had a light lunch of chicken and salad with a crisp white wine.Food was fresh but nothing out of the ordinary. Service a bit slow but then we were in no hurry in such a beautiful location
