Some friends recommended it on the way to Spain and if worth the visitIt is just 5 min from the highway and you find a very authentic and traditional restaurantThe food is excellent . The service great and the price very reasonableIt is a reason to come back to the region

Elvas has several restaurants, but the surrounding towns and villages have far fewer choices. We stopped here for lunch and were more than pleasantly surprised. It is a very busy place, a favorite of locals and area business people, and for good reason. The food is very fresh, the menu is extensive, the service is friendly, the prices low … so far so good. We were considering our choices when a server walked by with a delivery from a local fisherman. He showed several fish, and I chose a specimen that he immediately cleaned and put on the grill. The result was a crispy outside and firm, moist flesh. My partner had a lovely lamb dish. The prices are moderate, the parking directly in front, and the experience remarkable. We recommend Pompilio very highly.

Highly recommendable. Great service and excellent Portuguese dishes. We had clams, bacalhau grellado (simply delicious), and biscuit cake, beer, water, green wine, coffee and a Portuguese liquour: 48€. Good value for money.

Lunched very well at this traditional bright and airy restaurant, with outdoor seating. Food was good and staff helpful.

Very much the village restaurant. Not quite sure what to expect. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was copious though a bit heavy.

Went here on our first night and have to say I have no fault with the service or quality of food. If you want typical Alentejano experience with food look no further. 5 star cuisine. Definitely recommend this!

We were directed here by the proprietor of Monte da Torre A few km away. This was a good recommendation. We arrived tired after a long hot drive through the Alentejo but were soon enjoying local cuisine at very reasonable prices. Parking was easy. Although it was dusk as we arrived it was possible to see that in daylight the views from around the village would be worth the short journey. The village was lively in the evening with a real communal atmosphere. Even if you are staying in Evora itself the trip up to Sao Vicente is well worth it particularly if followed by a meal here.

In an idyllic village with a claimed record number of protected chimneys, the restaurant on the national road has a pleasant ambience, calm efficient service, very varied menu and a absolutely fabulous wine list both in terms of Alentejo wines and pricing.Our favourites were the presunto, deer stew and the chocolate mousse; and the fact that they opened the restaurant early to allow us to watch an important football match!
