Babugem em Sagres

This place came highly recommended and was a great first night in Sagres location for our family of 4. Chicken piri and steak for kids and 2 different kinds of fresh fish for the adults. Nice white wine, good salads, and a super vibe.

We went for a dinner just before viewing the sunset in Sao Vicente, which is about 10 min away by car. We were 3 adults and 5 kids. We arrived around 17:00 and were told the kitchen only opened at 18:15, but could have drinks. So we took 2 tables, had drinks and played table games. At 18:15 exactly, the man who had welcomes us came with the menu and presented the fishes of the day. 3 kinds of fish that all looked awesome. We ordered 2 of them with 2 chicken piri piri and coverts. The home made pickles were soooo good, as were the fishes and the chicken, and all the sides. Everything was flavory, tasty and cooked perfectly! Wine was good and inexpensive. In fact, we had our best meal in the area, and also the cheapest! All that with excellent service, in Portuguese, English and French!!! Thank you for this perfect dinner!

Great fresh grilled fish of the day! The owner comes out with all sorts of available fresh fish for you to choose from. They serve these with a good sized salad and potatoes or french fries. we also got the house wine at 5,80€ per bottle. Excellent price/quality! Do not expect the best wine, but for this price you will not find anything better. Owner is extremely friendly and pleasant to deal with! Recommended!

During our trip we tried a lot of different restaurants along the coast. None of those were as good as Babugem! First of all the atmosphere is amazing, it's small and cozy, the decoration gives you the feeling of a relaxed and chilled vacation. Second, the food is outstanding! The side dishes are huge, you get a big salad and French fries or cooked potatoes with your fresh fish (fished on the same day) or your absolutely delicious steak. The shrimps are also to die for. Third and last, the staff is absolutely friendly and makes you feel like old friends. It's the right place for a romantic dinner for two or for a big family with lots of kids! Try it out and you won't be sorry :)

Loved sitting out on the patio overlooking a quiet square. The server that helped us was really kind and patient, even creating a main-sized portion of their octopus salad. Really neat having the fresh fish brought to our table. Nothing fancy, but entirely relaxing and memorable.

Liked this place…tired from our touristy travails and after a big lunch earlier, just wanted something simple…companion noticed a good crowd at this place in the Praça Republica across from hotel. Just had two omelettes with chips and their homemade apple cake…and two carafes of vino…service was quick and staff lovely…unassuming place, seemed popular with locals/surfers/tourists etc. From other reviews/pics on TA, I wish we had the fish…or even the piri-piri chicken…maybe next time.

First time for me but joined friends returning - had the most interesting tastiest Shrimp dish - sauce was apparently Sri Lankan in origin - tasted amazing :D
