Quinta do Encontro em S LOURENCINHO

This was a peak experience for us. When we arrived for dinner, sparkling white wine was served to us at a table spread with divine olives, bread, herbed butter, and olive oil. We were treated to a second glass while we enjoyed our appetizers of mushrooms and sardines. My husband had the wild boar and I had a risottoat entrees. And for dessert we had a traditional walnut cake and sparkling wine creme brulee. The service was perfect: our waiter was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. The space is fascinating and unique. This was a lovely evening and we felt cared for and pampered! Obrigado!

We drove there on a Thursday for lunch, We saw on the internet they are open and they do wine tasting. The restaurant said they are full, there were no one yet in the restaurant. They said they are fully booked with 30 people and do not do wine tasting anymore because of Covid. They should update their website. I think they are more into private parties and functions. Do not waste your time.

We dine at this restaurant twice a week in the summer. They have changed in the last several years. Now they have what the Portuguese call a Diario, which is a limited daily menu with a appetizer or soap, fish or meat dish, and followed by dessert. The wine is included in the meal with coffee at a fixed price. There is no regular menu. If you need to have a regular menu with your choose of wine you need to reserve a table only on Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday lunch. Sunday is iffy ? The Diario is different everyday of the week and you need a reservation, it gets fully booked quickly. What's special about this place is the location they are in the middle of a vineyard. You will need your GPS. They're also a wine shop.

Nice place surrounded by lovely vineyards. But I urgent need of renovations. The service during the event was very professional and efficient. But all around, you could see that furniture, lamps and floor was pretty used.

Repeat visit to this normally wonderful restaurant. This time the service, friendliness and drinks were splendid as usual but were let down by the poor food from the daily menu choice.The simple vegetable soup had a strange smell. The fish dish was so,so and the steak.with wet mushroom rice very tough indeed. Hope this was a one off and we will be back soon to check this normally A1 restaurant.

Actually the site is fantastic with amazing landscapes. About the food really very disappointed. Strong recommendation to improve the food quantity.

We stayed in a village nearby, so when our tour guide booked this place for us, we expected some nice local restaurant you can find in a small villages in Portugal. What we do not expected was a brand store like modern architecture estate, with perfection of design, showcasing of own production and rituals of fine dining. So you feel like in Michelin star restaurant with welcome sparkling drink in a reception area, where you make your choice, then you enter the dining hall with spectacular views to surrounding wineyards. Starters, main courses and deserts all were top quality. We decided go for in house produced wines they were really good. Service was top level, attentive and with love and knowledge of the products served. The final bill was another positive surprise.We immediately booked table for the next evening. Highly recommended!

Repeat visit. Having reserved a table on the QdE website a few days earlier, we arrived at the restaurant only to be told by an unfriendly waitress that no reservation was known and that the restaurant was fully booked. This was obviously not acceptable and after having discussed it with the senior waiter, she almost immediately informed us that, yes, a table would be ready in a few minutes time! The lunch (surf turf) was, as always well prepared and of very good quality. Big portions too. The brut white and rose espumantes and the Preto/Branco red reserva were of the highest quality. Desserts were beautiful too. Another splendid meal. And our (un)reserved table? Had we not been there, it would have been completely! unused
