Well, what can I say! We arrived and, ahead of being shown to our table, we were each given a glass of rosé sparkling wine which may have been Portuguese but tasted like a good champagne. On being shown to our table, we took a few minutes to peruse the menu and decided to share a beef carpaccio for our starter which was excellent. For the main, I had an easy decision to make in that I went with the tuna which had an onion and chard accompaniment which I really, really enjoyed. My wife, after discussion with the young lady taking care of us, went with the cod in a red pepper sauce with a red onion mash accompaniment and a side of globe artichokes and ham. She absolutely loved it! We had a bottle of a dry Spanish white wine, though our preference initially would have been Portuguese, but it was a recommendation of the same young lady and it proved to be a good choice.I rounded off a great meal with a glass of tawny port which was also very good. And now to the young lady I mentioned. She was so helpful throughout the meal and really helped to improve the overall experience. I think her name was Christianna hope that is right) to whom I would like to convey a big THANKS!
