Truly superb! We went here last minute and we’re not disappointed. From the lovely ladies serving, to the excellent food and ambience it was an excellent experience. We chose to share the lobster prawn risotto I can honestly say it’s the best I’ve ever eaten… the gentle taste of the sea, lovely cheese, and a generous helping of lobster prawns it was fantastic would absolutely go here again! Good. It’s close by my hotel, so that is a nice thing. As it happens, the further east along the shoreline you go, the better restaurants get in Funchal, so it can’t entirely win stars.
Our host, Franco, made us very welcome and his suggested Portuguese Red went well with the excellent Chateaubriand we had as a main course.He also suggested we should share the garlic prawns (rather than have one portion each) and was absolutely right, half-a-dozen each with the delicious warm garlic toast was ample.Then, to use an English saying, the wheels fell off.We needed a little break after the main course and were subsequently totally ignored (as was our neighbouring table)....it was weird as if we had gone into a blind spot!After minutes my wife had to get up from the table to ask for the bill we had got past the stage of perhaps having a relaxing coffee then.The bill arrived with a glass of Madeira wine but a fine meal/experience was spoilt by this episode. Pity.
We were in Madeira for weeks and this was by far our favorite restaurant in Funchal. Amazing food and the service was exceptional. I can’t say enough great things about the quality of food. Thank you so much!
One might discuss the atmosphere but service and food were perfunctory. Upmarket pricing.

delicious with excellent service. I had the traditional madeira Espada fish (black scabbard fish) and it was perfect. enjoys! reservations are recommended, but as we ate early, they fit us. obrigado!
